So, I Hear You Want to Help People – Ch. 9

This is where the vision begins. This is where we begin to plan what we want our life to look like. This is where we start to create a vision for ourselves, so that we can picture our future and, of course, this is where we begin to make it so.

Remember something —
This is an action plan which means we are reaching the point where it is time to put this plan into action.

We have looked at the things that held us back, or kept us stuck, or sick.
We have talked about the ideas that kept us from trying to move forward and we have addressed our thinking errors. We have talked about our personal biases, and our unhelpful assumptions that lead us to a belief that no matter how hard we try, it’s no use.
We have talked about our thinking and our need to address our thought machine by changing our behaviors, to change the way we feel. As a result, we can change our emotions and improve our life.

We talked about our home team.
We talked about the changes we would like to make and, of course, we talked about our transformational goals, one by one, which we have listed in order.

We have chosen to move ahead with this action plan. As a result, we are learning to fill our mental or emotional tool bag with new methods to replace unhelpful thinking with beneficial actions.

We have moved through the early stages of planning, decision, and strategy, which means that we are gearing up to put this plan in motion.

We have to validate our acts and count our successes from small to huge. This is very important.
We have to gather our achievements and use them as fuel.

As we prepare to move forward and begin our vision statement, we have some questions to consider.

But remember, we have to be realistic about this.
Do you remember the acronym R.A.S.O.
(Realistic, Attainable, and Sustainable Outcomes)
We are here to find our R.A.S.O.

So—

What do you want the next chapter in your life to look like?

How would you like to start this process?

Keep in mind, we want to give ourselves a realistic platform so that we can not only start this project on solid ground, but also, we want our platform to be sturdy enough that we can springboard from here and leap into the next chapter of our transformation.

Where you like to be in six months?

What experiences would you like to own within this amount of time?

Picture yourself and think about where you are.
What changes (if any) would you like to make in your surroundings, whether this is at your desk at work or in your home or apartment, or wherever this might fit for you — what changes can or would you like to make to act as a picture board that will help remind you and encourage you to keep going, never quit, and endure and aspire to continue and achieve your goals?

Next, we have to prepare a vision statement to encourage our belief system.
The following is an example of what a vision statement can look like:

Imagine yourself in the morning. The alarm just went off  but you were already awake and ready to start your day.
Look around you. Nothing is out of order. Everything is doing well and there are no hidden surprises awaiting you.
You are at peace because you have set yourself up with a daily routine that allows you to achieve your goals while still maintaining your responsibilities.
Everything is taken care of.

Imagine your house as you want to see it.
You are welcome to see this place any way you choose.
You can have a brand-new home. You can move.
You can be anywhere you want to be.

Picture this –

The day is young, and you are feeling refreshed. There is nothing pressing and there are no feelings of impending doom. Your bills are paid. There are no more arguments.
There are no more toxic relationships or fake friendships.
There is nothing to hold you down and no one to hold you back.

The morning sky is clear and beautiful enough that the colors of dawn and even the three-quarter moon decided to hang around to see the rest of the morning begin.

You are free now.
You are free to go where you want to go. You are free to start your dream job. You are free to pick up where you left off and go out, go see, go live, or go, or be, and you are free to do whatever you choose because nothing can stop you anymore.

You see yourself in the mirror and you are pleased with your results.
You note the changes which might have taken a lifetime to achieve, but that’s okay.
You are reaching your goals now.
Your new life is just beginning. You can do anything you want.

No one is around to talk you out of trying something new.
You are achieving your goals and no one can stop you.
Like crabs in the bucket who pull each another down to keep another crab from avoiding the scalding pot, no one is around to pull you back in the bucket anymore.

You can see yourself in the mirror and be pleased with your reflection.
You started this process, which is a combination of effort and dedication — and now to add some color to your hard work, you open the door, about to leave your home and what do you see?
What does your world look like to you now?
What would it look like if we were able to make this real?
What would this be like to you to make this a daily reoccurrence because now that you have decided to envision your life, you realize that this is what you have been looking for all along.
This is your new life.
This is your new love.
This is the world you have always wanted to live in.

Picture yourself here.
Imagine your transformation
and, of course,
now all we have to do is continue to work on this plan
and make it so.
