There will always be adversity.
There will always be something controversial and there will always be someone at odds. We know this.
There is no escaping the fact that failure and falling down is part of life, or, as the saying goes, “Into each life, a little rain must fall.”
Sometimes though . . .
the rain goes on too long. Sometimes the clouds and the thickness of the storm can cause us to forget that although it might not be visible; the blue sky and the sun are still above us.
Ask anyone that has learned or fought or gave everything they’ve had, and they will tell you the same thing. Even winners lose.
There is no one in this world that is impervious to loss or pain. There are some however, that seem to rise above it. There are some that make what they do look easy because of their natural ability or talent.
There are some that can not study at all and pass a test. There are some that can sit at a piano and somehow, the music makes sense to them.
The world is mixed with physical learners and visuals learners but everyone learns in their own way.
Everyone has their own form of retention. Not everything comes easy. Certainly not success. Everyone has their own personal talent that no one else in the world can do the same as them. This is what makes us all so incredibly valuable; however, sometimes, we fall short of seeing our own beauty, which is absolutely tragic.
So what do you do?
What creates change?
What could we do to create a physiological change in us to the point where we actually see and feel the benefits.
The only answer to this is action.
The term action is defined as the process or state of acting or being active or doing something.
Action means to act in a way that one consciously wills, which may be characterized by physical or mental activity.
One thing that is proven is action creates change. The opposite only leads to stillness; however, the truth is everything changes.
Everything changes on a daily basis. The dates change. The weather changes. The winds move in different directions.
Nothing is ever really the same. We are constantly changing and constantly aging, which means we are constantly moving in one form or another.
There is no such thing as still.
Here we are, all of us on Project Earth, orbiting around the sun at a speed of around 1,000 mph.
We can’t feel the world moving but we know it is. We know this because morning turns into noon and then noon turns into evening and then nighttime follows up until we see the dawn.
There is no such thing as stillness. Everything we have is moving at a force and at a speed much faster than we realize. No amount of human strength can ever stop this. Not singularly and not even collectively. Nothing can stop the motion of time. So why fight it?
Time is finite but possibility is infinite.
The only question is what we plan to do with our possibilities?
Here we are, the third rock from the sun (as they say) and spinning around on an axis that rotates in a 24 hr. time period. That’s 24 hours, 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds.
A lot can happen in this time period. Life can change. Someone is breathing in and someone is exhaling out.
There are approximately 15,000 births, worldwide in a 24 hr. time period. This means life is inevitable.
The average adult makes somewhere around 35,000 decisions per day. This means mistakes are inevitable. This means accidents will happen. This means we’ll make wrong turns. We will fall down. We will be hurt. But in the interim, we do have the opportunity to stand up again.
For some reason there is a strange connection between the ideas of success and failure.
There is a preposterous idea that links wealth to success and financial success to happiness.
This is simply not true. The only way to secure happiness is from within.
Instead of comparisons and instead of looking externally to find something that should come from within; the only path towards meaningfulness is to find what is truly meaningful to us, to our heart, and to our soul.
If the question someone has about this is “How?” then the answer is somewhere inside is an abundance of motivation.
Somewhere inside us all is a purpose. Somewhere is an untapped resource, just aching to be used. The answer to this is always within. The answer is never external because anything external is never guaranteed.
Somewhere inside is a tremendous force, just waiting to be awakened.
Internal peace cannot and will not be hinged upon or linked to someone or anyone else. No, in order to find the ultimate peace in one’s self; in order to find that sense of balance or that personal center, or homeostasis, the answer must come from within.
But keep in mind, the answer will never be found if all we see is doubt or look at ourselves and compare us to others or see us as the unlikeness of the world. The fact that we are unlike each other is an absolute gift.
I was up and out of my house at 5:00 am this morning. I started my walk and noticed the colors of the sky, which was beautiful. I know that I will never see the sky the same as I did this morning. But at least I was here to see it now.
There will always be adversity. There will always be depressive ideas and thoughts. And there will always be the pivot that comes from one minute to the next. All we have to do is survive this moment and let it turn.
This is how we overcome.
