Stream of Consciousness: I Am –

How amazing it is to think and read or to learn about a person so inspiring and that because of them, we chose to do or we chose to dare. It is amazing to me that we have the ability to affect and inspire. We can spark desire or act as the catalyst of change. I am in awe of you.
Literally in awe.
Whereas, time has proven to me again and again that come one come all, the stage is set. Life is happening before our eyes and yet, some people live, other people watch and some die alive and some people simply wither away.
But not you.

Unbreakable

In the end, there is really only one question. There’s only one idea that comes with life. And this comes down to a decision. The question is what do you want? The idea is what do you have to do to make this so? The questions are actually simple. The answers are simple as well.
The truth is we all have a goal. We have dreams and ideas yet another truth is there are times when life doesn’t agree. There are times when life does not support our dreams. There are times when we find ourselves, running through the mazes on a daily basis. We get lost or misdirected. We find ourselves turned around and we lose our sense of direction. We lose our way. Life can be like this.
And we wonder, “Is this a test?” Am I suppose to be learning from this?
There are times when our faith is questioned. Our resolve is pushed to the limit. People test us. Life tests us and we find ourselves lost in a pit of frustrations.

Time To Go

I don’t know if it’s the same for kids today. Is it?
Do they want to be firefighters or astronauts anymore? I suppose my question is do they pretend the way we used to?
It is currently snowing in my part of the hemisphere. As I write this to you, the sky is in the early stages of daybreak. There are large snowflakes falling on the ground. The snow is not heavy by any means. However, the accumulation is only enough to cover the ground. There’s a a trace of white that has perched on the limbs of trees. The evergreens are the only semblance of color. Otherwise, there is a certain grayness to the day, which is almost black and white.

Play a Song for Me

We used to have to work for things. And I know this gets old. I know this is no different from when I was a kid and my Old Man would say things that began with, “When I was your age,” but either way, it’s true.
We used to have to work for things.
Nothing was this easy. If a song came out or if a band came out with an album, we had to save for this. We had to wait for this. I remember saving up for a tape and walking across town to a record store. Now, when I say tape; the younger generation might be lost. They wouldn’t know what a cassette tape is.

Inspiration, Motivation, Visualization

This thought is written to provide a guided meditation. The script is to be read and then mastered by yourself. But first, you have to see it . . .
It’s daybreak and the sun is a bright orange yolk about to break the horizon. It’s a new day now. Everything that has come before is gone and washed away.
Are you ready?

Stream of Consciousness: Note to Self

I go back to what my friend told me. . .
He was talking about successful people. He was telling me about people who strive in the gym or people who train in Jiu-Jitsu. He said something that was obvious and simple yet, so poignant and true. He told me a black belt is actually a white belt that never gave up. This is a person who rolled through the same moves, over and over again, until the body knew what to do without the mind’s input.

So, keep pushing is what he told me.

Just to Write: The Art of Inspiration

I miss music. Wait, no. I think I need to be more specific on this one. I miss live music. I miss shows. I miss going to a place from my younger years known as Mulcahey’s. I miss the bands that would play and the people I’d see. I even miss the promises I’d make to myself, to leave early so that I could wake up the next day and get to work on time. I’d make it to work on time, or just barely. But I never left early.

Wealth and Personal Poverty

You find yourself at an impasse. You’re at a cross road and you’re not sure which way to go. You know that something needs to change. But what?
The beginning of a personal life change is always hard. You’re new to your routine. All of the changes around you are uncomfortable. Your old comforts, habits and assumptions are not there to serve you anymore. It’s all new and suddenly we realize that we are the routine that we set for ourselves. This is us, each day, morning, noon and night.
We become our thoughts and our feelings; even if either of them are inaccurate or false, we become the product of our thinking.

My Rock-A-Bye

The purpose of this message is to connect a thought to an idea. This is to link a picture to a time in which, I swear, I have never seen a moon quite like this one. We were out in the ocean, approximately 110 nautical miles south of the Jones Beach inlet.
We tied up at a place called The Dip for an overnight tuna trip. The water was deep. There was a little action before we hit the spot and one yellowfin was brought on board. The fish was a decent size, but of course, we were looking for bigger fish.

This is not a fishing story per se but more, this is about a dream. This is about an idea and a picture that I keep close to my heart. This is about a connection, a bond and a promise.

Well, What Are You Waiting For?

I enter this as a person who works for a living and humbly, I offer my thoughts as a person who understands that choices matter. It is clear to me that the value of our choices are more important that we assume. However, youth is not always patient or understanding. We think; therefore, everything we think must be true, even if it is not true.
I offer this as a page from my old playbook in which I recognize life is more than a game of chance and everything we do is up to chance, which sometimes we take and other times we settle or give in. But more, I write this as proof to myself; to give myself a true vision of the life I lived and the doorway which is where I find myself now.
I write this without direction and in streams of consciousness, which means I am not monitoring or judging my words. I am only offering them.
If you’ll have them, that is.
